Frog on the Bog is a creative and unique gift store and gallery in Wells, BC

We have a fabulous selection of gifts and clothing that are specific to the Cariboo, and which celebrate our two greatest assets: our amazingly rich and diverse environment, and our gold rush history. In addition to the funky and the funny, we also feature the works of many artists/artisans/authors from the Wells/Bowron area, from knitwear to photography and woodwork to pottery.

Besides being fun to say, our store is named after an environmental monitor. Frogs have been given the title of environmental signposts for a clean and healthy ecology, and we try to celebrate that with our store.

A quick survey of our inventory showed us that we are the go-to shop for commitment to local goods. Current retail goods at the Frog are supplied by 31 independent BC artists and artisans, including 19 from our local region! On top of that we sell books from 13 independently published authors, and purchase from 8 family run independent Canadian suppliers. We are also a source of information about the region, hiking and events, and also a local contact for Sunset Theatre,  Theatre Royal, Island Mountain School of the Arts, Artswells Festival of All Things Art, Barkerville, and other special events.

To top it all off, we sell some of the absolute best coffee in the Cariboo, and support it with Soft Ice Cream,  fresh baking, wraps, and other items, and offer Free Wireless Internet service.

We carry:

Imprints from the Earth – real Wild Animal Tracks embedded in clay, and made by a local artisan.

Cool clothing! Leather purses and hats, funky jackets and skirts.  Warm snugglies for cool nights.  Cute clothing for the little ones.

Large gold nuggets from Local Cariboo Miners dug from  famous producers such as Williams, Grouse, Antler, and other nearby Creeks; and beautiful nugget jewellery.

Lots of wild animals, regionally-designed gifts and souvenirs, and, of course, lots of cool frog stuff.
